Legal Noticeeeee
Welcome to the website of Farbfilm Studio GmbH. We inform you here about our activities, our projects and our team. You will find images, videos and links. We continuously work on the content of the website. We keep you up to date: with the news on the website and, if you like, also with our newsletter in your inbox.
The content and design of this website are protected by copyright. In some cases the copyrights belong to our partners or third parties, otherwise to us. In any case, this content is available for information purposes, but not for further use by others, including on other websites — we reserve the right to authorise such reproductions.
We strive to provide accurate and complete information. Nevertheless, errors can occur — we do not accept any legal liability for information provided and are grateful for factually corrective notes. We accept no liability for the content of linked pages, as these can change at any time. This is the responsibility of their operators.
Privacy Policy
All of this involves the processing of data that relates to you as visitors and users of our website and electronic services (e.g. names and contact details that users enter in the newsletter sign-up form; but also the data traces you leave when visiting the website): these are personal data. The processing of such data is regulated by data protection law; above all, it is important to us to handle it carefully. This privacy policy tells you how we do this.
This concerns the operation and use of the website and newsletter. Please inform yourself directly with the respective providers about the offers and conditions of linked services and platforms (such as social media and video platforms). The responsible operator of this website is Farbfilm Studio GmbH, based in Zurich (address at the end of this statement).
Our data processing is subject to Swiss data protection law. For visitors residing in the European Union (EU) and the European Economic Area (EEA): Switzerland and the EU including the EEA mutually recognise each other's data protection legislation as equivalent. In certain cross-border cases, EU law — primarily the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) — may additionally apply to specific data processing activities.
Communication by Email or Otherwise
It goes without saying that your email address and the content you send to us will be recorded and processed when you contact us by email; the same applies to telephone and postal contact. We retain this data (and for as long as necessary) to respond to your enquiries, and where required by law or to protect our rights.
Server Log Files
You can use the website without providing any personal data. However, with every visit to our website — as elsewhere on the internet — you leave a "footprint" of data (mostly technical, so-called server log data), which may include: the IP address and internet service provider of your connection, browser type and version, and the operating system of the device used to access our site, your browser's request, the website from which you came (e.g. a search engine where you found us; so-called "referrers"), the individual pages you navigate to on our website, date and time of access.
This data is collected by us, as by most website operators, because it may be needed to ensure the security and proper operation of our website. It may also be used for operational and usage analyses of our website. It is regularly deleted after 30 days.
Linked Platforms and External Video / Image Sources
We are also happy to introduce you to our presentations on our social media channels. You will find direct links (buttons) to these on our website. Please be aware that by clicking these links you are entering the services of these operators.
The videos embedded in the website are hosted on Vimeo. When you click on them to play them, you activate a link to this platform and your computer or mobile device interacts directly with the servers of this service. The terms and privacy policies of these services apply; please familiarise yourself with these when using their services.
Please note: if a visitor to our website is simultaneously logged into an account with one of these services, or accesses content hosted there (e.g. a video on Vimeo), the service recognises the access and may link it to a user profile it maintains for that account. If you do not want this, please log out of these services before visiting us, and do not play any videos on our website.
Cookies
Like most websites, ours also sets cookies (small executable instructions) in your browser, on your computer or mobile device when you visit. They support functions in the display of the website. Some of these are necessary (e.g. for displaying fonts); some improve convenience (e.g. to save a language setting); or support our usage analysis (see Analytics Tools). You can find out which cookies are used by checking your browser's log.
Analytics cookies assign an identification tag (cookie ID) which allows individual visitors to be "recognised" and distinguished from each other. This can be used to improve statistics, for example. It can also be used to store language settings, form entries and similar.
Cookies are usually accepted automatically by internet browsers. Each visitor can prevent the storage and activation of such cookies by adjusting the settings in their browser software (e.g. Safari, Firefox, Chrome or Edge) according to the browser's instructions, or by using available plug-ins to avoid cookies. Existing cookies can be deleted from the browser on the computer or mobile device. Please find out about the necessary steps in the instructions provided by your browser provider.
When you visit our website, you will be informed about the use of cookies. If you do not accept the cookies of our website, it is possible that certain information or layouts may not be displayed correctly and some functions intended to improve your visit may not be available.
Analytics Tools
For analyses of the usage and functionality of our website, we use the analytics service Google Analytics. This also works with cookies, through which data such as IP address, browser type, operating system and time, an ID assigned by the cookie, and the recorded analytics data on website usage are collected.
This analytics data also reaches servers of Google, which operates this service. These servers may also be located in the USA, whose legal system Switzerland and the EU do not, or only under a special framework ("EU-US Data Privacy Framework"), recognise as adequate. In addition to the general measures regarding cookies, Google itself provides a browser add-on to specifically block Google Analytics: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
Security and Our Providers
To protect the security of data transmission, we use standard encryption (e.g. SSL) via HTTPS.
For the design and hosting of our website and the associated data, we use selected providers in Switzerland, and the corresponding data is hosted only on servers in Switzerland. We have processing agreements with these providers that ensure the security of the data and our control over it. Within our company, only the staff of the head office have access to such data.
We do not retain personal data for longer than is necessary for the stated purposes.
Overview: Integrated Tools and Their Providers
Here again is an overview of the providers of tools and functions integrated into our website. We point out that personal data affected by the use of these services may also involve servers and entities abroad, particularly in the EU/EEA and/or the USA. For the EU/EEA, the respective data protection laws, which Switzerland has confirmed as adequate, ensure sufficient data protection. For the USA, this is ensured by the commitments of the operators (usually through contractual terms incorporating the EU Commission's standard contractual clauses) to the extent possible for a small or medium-sized enterprise in Switzerland.

You can counteract increased data collection by these services by making sure you are not logged into your own accounts with these services when visiting websites like ours.
Rights under GDPR
For our valued visitors from the EU and EEA: if we offer you goods or services or observe your behaviour, your data protection law, the GDPR, would also be applicable. We do not actually do either. If this is the case in an individual situation, we base processing (within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 GDPR) on the consent of the individuals concerned, where we have this.
You have all the rights that the GDPR grants you in this regard (alongside the practically equivalent rights under Swiss data protection law): You can request information from us about your personal data that we store and process; its correction and, if applicable, its deletion or a restriction on its processing (Art. 15–18 GDPR). You can also object to data processing; we will then cease it unless there are compelling serious reasons against doing so or we need the data to protect our rights (Art. 21). And if you have provided us with data based on your consent, you could request its transfer pursuant to Art. 20.
